FIFA 22 Ultimate TOTS: What to Expect

FIFA 22 UltimateTOTS

FIFA 22 Ultimate TOTS is the last leg for this year’s end-of-season promo, culminating with the best players across the event being put back into packs.

Here’s everything we know about what FIFA 22 has in store for the event, from the release date to the players we expect to feature.

What is FIFA 22 Ultimate TOTS?

Madden 23: Everything We Know So Far

Madden 23

An August launch for Madden 23 is almost assured, but what changes will we see this year? EA has promised to focus on AI improvements, and we already know some of the new features in franchise mode. As for the first trailer, rookie ratings, and more: we have some details for you.

When will is the first Madden 23 trailer coming?

EA usually likes to drop its first trailer during EA Play Live, shortly before E3. This year will be different, as both EA Play Live and E3 have been canceled. We can still expect the first Madden 23 trailer in early June, with a bunch of new information coming in the following weeks.

What’s the Madden 23 release date?

There’s no official Madden 23 release date yet. Historically, EA has liked to have the game out before week 1 of the real NFL season. Madden 20 dropped on August 2, 2019, Madden 21 dropped August 28, 2020, while Madden 22 hit the shelves on August 20, 2021.

We know the Madden 23 release date will be a Friday, in August. Beyond that your guess is as good as ours.

As soon as the date is announced, we’ll share it here.

Who’ll be the Madden 23 cover star?

Previous cover men Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are sure to be contenders, as is John Madden himself. The former Raiders coach, commentator, and man for whom the series is named passed away in December at age 85. Placing him on the front of the game would be a fitting tribute.

What will Madden 22 rookie ratings be?

In previous years, EA has tied in rookie ratings with the NFL draft weekend, which runs in late April. This year, we got nothing.

Based on draft classes in previous years, these are our predictions for this years top 10 picks.

  • 1 Travon Walker (DE, Jacksonville Jaguars) – 82
  • 2 Aidan Hutchinson (DE, Detroit Lions) – 81
  • 3 Derek Stingley Jr. (CB, Houston Texans –) 80
  • 4 Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner (CB, New York Jets) – 81
  • 5 Kayvon Thibodeaux (DE, New York Giants) – 79
  • 6 Ikem Ekwonu (OT, Carolina Panthers) – 80
  • 7 Evan Neal (OT, New York Giants) – 78
  • 8 Drake London (Atlanta Falcons) – 78
  • 9 Charles Cross (OT, Seattle Seahawks) – 77
  • 10 Garrett Wilson (WR, New York Jets) – 77
EA says Madden 23 features will focus on AI

The publisher says that going forward, team-mate and opponent intelligence is going to be a major area of focus on the field.

“A.I. is very well set up to be the thing that defines this generation of console,” EA Sports vice president Sean Ramjagsingh told Fortune. “The extra computing power of the new consoles unlocks extra abilities for us from a development perspective and [between] what’s happening with the capturing of real-world data and the way data’s being leveraged now to drive different technologies, there are a lot of opportunities for us moving forward.”

“We took player route data from actual players and used it in [Madden 22],” says Tiburon senior game design director Connor Dougan. “There’s so much cool data that we can use to make the most realistic representations. For example, the Baltimore Ravens use a pistol formation [compared to] the San Francisco 49ers, who get rid of the ball quick and have lots of motion in the pre-play. We use that data to model our play calling.”

What’s being added to Madden 23 franchise mode?

We don’t need an official reveal to answer this one. EA Tiburon provides year-round updates to franchise mode, which carry over from game to game. You can find the most recent updates to Franchise mode here.

We will post all the Madden 23 release info as it comes in.

NBA 2K22 Update 1.12 Patch Notes

NBA 2K22 released the update 1.12 patch today, and it is quite the update. Today’s patch is expected to begin preparations for the launch of Season 7 later this week.

It’s been a little over a month since Season 6: Zero Gravity launched in NBA 2K22, which means we’re about ready for the beginning of a new season filled with new content. Although players won’t notice any immediate changes in today’s update, it means Season 7 is right around the corner.

Here’s everything we know so far about the latest NBA 2K22 update, as well as when you can expect Season 7 to get started.

NBA 2K22 Season 7 Update Details

The developers always release a new patch a few days prior to the launch of the new season. Although yet to be officially confirmed by, Season 7 of NBA 2K22 is expected to launch on Friday, May 20th, 2022.

As of now, the May 16 update only appears to be available on current-gen consoles, with a reported download size of 37GB, which may vary depending on your platform. More then likely today’s patch will be rolled out for next-gen consoles and PC before the launch of season 7.

You can view the full patch notes when they become available on NBA 2K’s website.

FIFA 23 Update: Will Look Familiar Despite the Upcoming Name Change

FIFA 23

EA FC is coming after FIFA 23 but for now its status quo.

EA Sports and FIFA decided to end their nearly thirty-year partnership, announcing the decision earlier this week. Instead, EA will rebrand the franchise as EA Sports FC.

FIFA 23 will be the final game that EA and FIFA will release as part of the partnership. Considering the recent news, and given that a FIFA World Cup is happening in 2022, players are wondering if FIFA 23 will have a World Cup mode.

FIFA 23 World Cup mode

In a blog post announcing some of their upcoming plans for the franchise, EA confirmed that FIFA 23 will have World Cup content. So despite the uncertainty surrounding the long-term changes to the franchise, players now know they’ll get their fill of World Cup content in FIFA 23.

The 2022 Qatar World Cup is also on the horizon, it will be played in the winter as opposed to the summer. This means that FIFA 23 could launch with World Cup content.

Ultimate Team World Cup content in FIFA 23

There is very little information out right now on FUT 23 content. In FIFA 2018, World Cup content was added to the game as a free downloadable add-on. We can expect something similar in FIFA 23 and probably more.

In FIFA 2018, Ultimate Team underwent a World Cup makeover, and fans are clearly excited at the prospect of a World Cup Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 23. We are almost certain to see special World Cup packs at multiple points throughout the year.

EA Sports FC Coming in 2023

EA Sports FC

FIFA 23 will release this year, but it will be EA Sports FC after that.

EA has announced that the FIFA series will change its name after FIFA 23, ending a partnership that has been in place since 1993.

EA Sports announced the change in a blog post, stating that there will be more information coming about the first EA Sports FC in July 2023. “This new independent platform will bring fresh opportunity – to innovate, create and evolve,” reads a statement from EA Sports representative, Cam Weber.

Despite dropping the name license, EA Sports FC will keep FIFA’s league, club and player licenses, including 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues. FIFA itself has not released a statement at time of writing.

EA Sports vice president David Jackson released an important statement regarding the change: “In terms of things that they’ll miss, players will notice only two things: The name and a World Cup piece of content every four years. Outside of that, very little will change about the things they know, and love about the current FIFA products.”

EA had previously said it was exploring the idea of renaming the series, and trademarked the EA Sports FC name, but this is the first time it’s been officially confirmed.

Previous reports suggested that FIFA wanted to charge EA $1 billion every four years to use the name. A name mired in controversy for many years, including major corruption scandals.
