Madden NFL 24 Patch Notes

Madden 24 Patch Notes

A new Madden NFL 24 patch is available today fixing the draft class issues, slow UI transitions and franchise mode updates. It also includes a ton of gameplay fixes and tuning, new alternate uniform updates, face scans, tweaks for Superstar mode and whole lot more.

Check out the full patch notes below:

GAMEPLAY:

Abilities

DEV NOTE: The following ability additions are exclusive to Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions.

  • Derrick Henry equipped with Angry Runs
    • When your player is entering the zone, this X-Factor ability grants you an extremely high chance to win your first interaction with a defender. This will include fakeout attempts, truck/stiff arm attempts, and breaking a tackle.
Pro Tip: Look for Kyle Brandt’s Angry Runs player of the week to see which players earn this ability in Ultimate Team.
  • Travis Kelce equipped with 3rd Down Threat
    • This Superstar ability grants your player an improved chance of winning contested catches on 3rd down while in single coverage. This will only activate if the pass is within 25 yards of the line of scrimmage.
  • Jason Kelce equipped with Linchpin
    • This Superstar ability causes the center to bolster the entire offensive line, allowing players to hold blocks for a longer period of time then they normally would.
  • Micah Parsons equipped with Dual Threat
    • When in the zone, this X-Factor ability grants players an extremely high chance to defeat pass blocks while rushing or force catch knockouts while in coverage.

Catching

  • Fixed an issue causing players to warp to their feet after playing a diving catch.
  • Fixed a rare issue preventing running backs from playing catches on swing routes when leading them upfield.
  • Fixed a rare issue allowing defenders to use a one-handed interception through the receiver’s arms.
  • Tuning to reduce the catch success chance for pass rushers when attempting to catch an errant throw-out-of-sack pass.
  • Tuning to reduce the amount of catch-tackle knockouts, specifically targeted at curl routes when leading away from the defender.

Defense & Special Teams

  • Tuning to Real-Time AI adjustment logic so it will not take effect when the defense is using pass coverage/sub defense personnel.
    • DEV NOTE: After hearing your feedback, and looking at the online game stats, we have added additional criteria so the defense will now have to have at least as many defensive linemen and linebackers on the field as the offense has offensive linemen and tight ends in order to activate the benefit of recognizing repeated run plays. For example, a defense aligning in a Dime defense vs. a 1 RB/1 TE offensive formation will now reflect the defense playing to stop the pass instead of the run.
  • Tuning to QB Contain logic so only edge-rush defenders that are very close to the line of scrimmage will be able to get assigned QB Contain.
  • Fixed an issue allowing a blitz exploit where the defense would slant-out the defensive line after using QB Contain to get unrealistic edge heat;  now interior pass rushers will take appropriate rush angles understanding that the edge rushers are in contain.
  • Fixed an issue allowing a user-controlled defender to tackle a punt returner after a fair-catch signal with no penalty.
  • Fixed an issue causing receivers to enter the ‘give-up’ assignment sometimes after a catch in the flat to their side of the field.
  • Fixed an issue causing kickers to immediately walk toward the sideline after performing a squib kick.
  • Modified the defensive audibles logic so teams can only audible to formations with matching personnel.
    • DEV NOTE: Previously users were only able to audible to different defensive sets within a defensive formation but we were not looking at substitutions that were made prior to the audible. Users will no longer be able to audible to a Set that puts their substituted Safety on the Defensive Line. Users will have the ability to audible from Nickel to Dime if they have substituted a Linebacker with a Defensive Back which they could not do before.
  • Fixed an issue causing a user-controlled defensive lineman to sometimes get stuck in his stance after shifting the line to the right in the Nickel, 4-4 and 3-4 formations.
  • Fix an issue allowing users to snap the ball too quickly on no-huddle plays (carrying forward the fix from the last title update that was made to the Competitive Game Style).

AI

  • Fixed an issue where the AI-controlled team would burn their last timeout early and would sometimes not attempt field goals with the clock expiring.
  • Fixed an issue causing AI-controlled teams to attempt long field goals when out of range.

Passing

  • Tuning Pitch/Lateral accuracy to make it more difficult/risky to perform long-distance laterals while moving in opposite directions.
    • DEV NOTE: Users were able to create unrealistic long pitch plays using the Speed Option to draw the defense in, then pitch the ball to a player really far away. Now the pitch will not be as accurate when attempting to pitch such a far distance and the facing angle of the QB will also be taken into account.
  • Fixed a visual issue preventing the Skill-Based Passing power bar from updating correctly.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the user-setting to hide the passing meter from carrying over into gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue allowing Broncos QB Russell Wilson and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to throw on the run with no accuracy penalty.
  • Fixed an issue causing an inaccurate pass when rolling out and pass leading to the inside of a TE in the flat with ‘Perfect Accuracy’ feedback,
  • Tuning to reduce ‘backfoot’ pass animations from triggering when not under pressure.

  • Fixed an issue in Cover 4 Match leaving the post route uncovered when using a hot-route to streak the TE on the Gun Doubles Z Close Escape play
  • Fixed an issue preventing the curl-flat defender from using a zone-chuck and leverage the flat vs. a slot receiver in 3-receiver bunch formations.

Tua & Dak Headline Newest Madden 24 Player Ratings Update

Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins put up “video game numbers” in Week 3 and his new Madden rating reflects as much.

The Week 3 roster update for Madden saw the Miami quarterback get a 2 point boost from an 85 rating to an 87. Tagovailoa was 23-of-26 for 309 touchdowns and four touchdowns in the victory.

Tagovailoa is now up to 1,024 yards on the season with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. He looks like a MVP candidate for the 3-0 Dolphins. Tua wasn’t the only player from the Dolphins to see a significant bump, as running backs Raheem Mostert and Devon Achane also saw a rise in ratings.

Mostert rose from an 80 to an 82 after a performance that saw him rush for 82 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries while also adding seven catches for 60 yards and a touchdown in the passing game.

Achane rose three points from a 75 to a 78 after a massive game that saw him get 18 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns on the ground while also chipping in four catches for 30 yards and two touchdowns.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert also rose two points and now sits at a 90. He was 40-of-47 for 405 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings that saw the Chargers earn their first win of the season.

Defensively, T.J. Watt was a riser as he moved from a 96 to a 97 following a two-sack performance for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The most notable downgrade this week came to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who went from an 87 to an 85. This came after he went 25-of-40 for 249 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a 28-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

You can find the full list of this week’s updates here.

Tyreek Hill & Micah Parsons Headline Madden 24 Week 2 Player Ratings Update

Madden 24 Ratings Update Week 2

Following the Week 2 installment of ratings updates for Madden NFL 24, we have a new member of the 99 Club.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been elevated to the 99 Club. Hill actually received the honor following Miami’s victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football. He put up five catches for 40 yards and a touchdown, a decent follow-up to his dominant outing in the season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers where he had 11 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons is on the edge of the 99 Club after receiving a one-point bump to an overall rating of 98.

Parsons made a living in the backfield in week 2, recording two sacks, four quarterback hits and nine pressures in a 30-10 victory. He also stripped the ball from Jets running back Dalvin Cook and recovered the fumble.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers star receiver Mike Evans was given a one-point bump to 91 after dominating the Chicago Bears with six catches for 171 yards and a touchdown.

Breaking Down The Best New Features for NBA 2K24

It’s almost time to jump back onto the virtual hardwood, as the next edition of the NBA 2K video game series is coming soon. And there are some big changes to this year’s version that should add to the user experience.

NBA 2K24 is set to release Sept. 8, with both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions supporting cross-platform play.

The most notable change to this year’s game is the new ProPLAY technology. According to 2K Sports, the system is “a groundbreaking new technology that directly translates NBA footage into NBA 2K24 gameplay.”

In the past, players’ actions in the game had been created via motion capture. The real-life NBA stars worked with 2K to replicate the actions they used on the court over the course of a season.

Now, 2K can take movement from actual NBA games and incorporate it into the game. Providing players with the most life-like gameplay experience yet.

The following movements will all be upgraded via the ProPLAY technology: jumpshots, dunks, layups, dribble moves, pass animations and signature movements. Even inbound passes and other small details will appear more realistic as well.

In NBA2K23, MyNBA introduced various eras in which users could jump into for the franchise mode. A new era will appear in NBA 2K24: The LeBron Era. It will take users back into the early 2010s, when LeBron James teamed up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as they eyed bringing multiple championships to the Miami Heat.

For users looking to play something else fresh, there will be a new challenge mode in NBA 2K24: Mamba Moments.

Those who played NBA 2K23 will recall the Jordan Challenge, which allowed users to play and recreate the most memorable moments of Michael Jordan’s legendary career. It provided a great history lesson in the process.

Mamba Moments will be the same type of mode, but it will feature the greatest career achievements of the late Kobe Bryant, who is on the cover of NBA2K24. So this will be a must-play experience for fans of the “Black Mamba.”

All of the core modes and features are returning, and the play should only be better with the new technology being brought to the table.

How to Fix the Madden 24 Draft Class Glitch

The bugs and glitches in Madden 24 are starting to pile up, but the draft class glitch might be the worst.

Another year, another installment of Madden. Reports are that players are running into some strange errors, including the Madden 24 Draft Class glitch, which causes bizarre issues with your team’s appearance. Here’s how to fix the issue and get back in the game.

The Draft Class glitch appears when playing in Franchise Mode. It causes all your players to share the same physique and it sounds as if players are running into the bug on all platforms.

According to a post about the Draft Class glitch on the EA support page, “the physique slider does not affect characters.” The result is that “entire draft classes have the same body type and can not change.”

The report goes on to say that as you progress through Franchise Mode, the bug impacts the entire team.

“All the players look exactly alike. A 314lb lineman looks like a 240lb linebacker or 200lb running back. There is no difference besides the height of each player.”

Unfortunately, EA is yet to respond with a fix to the Draft Class glitch. There’s a strong possibility a patch will be required to get the feature working as intended.

How to fix the ‘Madden 24’ Draft Class glitch

There does seem to be a workaround, however, as some users are able to change player physique by moving the weight slider one slot to the left or right. Another user notes the issue could be tied to importing and downloading a draft class and avoiding those processes could save you from the Draft Class glitch.

EA has some work to do!

EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team: New Features and Gameplay Changes Revealed

Compared to the FIFA 23 offering, the EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team changes will be noticeable. There are some notable differences and new features.

The latest EA Sports FC deep dive focuses on Ultimate Team, the mode where a majority of us spend our time.

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s changing in EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team.

What is changing in EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team?

EA is doing everything it can to ensure that the EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team will be different and upgraded compared to what’s come before it.

A lot of changes have been made, not least the introduction of women’s football players to the online mode.

The main headline to be taken from all the changes is that women’s football is now in Ultimate Team. In a move that will please many, you can mix and match men and women players together in the same team.

If you want Haaland and Kerr up-front together to form the world’s most lethal strike partnership – you can do precisely that.

Chemistry is largely untouched with the introduction of women’s football. Sam Kerr, for example, will have strong bonds with other players from her Chelsea and Australia teams.

A man and woman player from the same real-world team, let’s say Lauren James and Reece James from Chelsea, for example, will have a strong chemistry, too.

The next major headline is Ultimate Team Evolution’s.

Ultimate Team Evolution’s allow you to level up your players. Each player card in your club can be upgraded by completing objectives. You’ll see a clear path to help improve individual player skills, add to PlayStyles, overall ratings, and how the card looks.

The new gameplay feature found in other modes, PlayStyles are also going to be a part of Ultimate Team. PlayStyles changes how your player actually behaves, with skills and approaches not just based on stats as before.

It’s supposed to bring the players in the game closer to their real-life counterparts, effectively mimicking the playing styles you see from the stands or on your TV screen.

Other changes include Icon cards, which will now add +1 chemistry to your squad regardless of country or club association, making it easier to add legends of the game to your Ultimate Team.

Finally, alterations have been made based on community feedback. This includes the ability to change player positions without the need for a consumable, and the promise of easier-to-manage menu navigation.

You have a chance to try Ultimate Team early thanks to the ongoing closed beta (which comes to an end on 31 August).

To read up more on all of the EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team changes, check out the official site for more information.

NBA 2K24 Top 12 Rated Players

NBA 2K24 Top 10

NBA 2K24 is set to launch on September 8 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC consoles. Last week, we learned a few of the top rookie ratings. This week we learned who the top players in the entire game are. Here’s the full list of the top 12 players in NBA 2K24:

NBA 2K24 Schedule Teases Several New Reveals

NBA 2K24 Teasers

2K Sports officially announced NBA 2K24 earlier this month but didn’t reveal much outside of the cover athlete and pre-order bonuses. As of now, the only thing we really know about the game is that it will support crossplay on next-gen consoles and is using the Jordan Moments concept to make a Kobe Bryant-centric mode. Beyond that, we’ve only gotten hints at gameplay improvement with ProPlay and other small teases. Fortunately for NBA 2K24 fans, that’s going to change soon as 2K Sports announced its reveal roadmap for August and September which will take us up to the game’s release on September 8.

The current roadmap for NBA 2K24 reveals kicks off on August 14. That’s when 2K will give the first real look at gameplay, including the new ProPlay technology. We don’t know much about what this is at this point, but 2K did call it “a groundbreaking new technology that directly translates NBA footage into gameplay and delivers animations and movements via on-court NBA action for a generational leap in authenticity on PS5 and Xbox [Series] X/S.” That sounds…pretty great.

The next week, on August 21, we’ll learn more about the game modes. 2K Sports will be talking about The W (the WNBA mode), MyNBA, and Mamba Moments. MyNBA is similar to Franchise mode in other sports, but last year 2K introduced a feature that would let you jump a save back to specific Eras to redo older seasons in the NBA. On August 28, we’ll get a look at MyCareer, The City, and MyTeam, the competitive modes that generally drive sales of the 2K series. We haven’t gotten any real teases about these modes, so it’ll be cool to get a first look.

Last up, we’ll get the reveal of NBA 2K24‘s Season 1 on September 4. With the game launching later that week, it’ll serve as the kick-off for the final week of hype. It’s likely that 2K will do what it always does and start revealing giveaways for copies of the game, Virtual Currency to use in MyCareer and MyTeam, and even a few real-world pieces of NBA memorabilia.

Upward and Onward!
