Lamar Jackson & CeeDee Lamb Top Madden 24 Week 17 Ratings Update

Lamar Jackson, CeeDee Lamb Top Madden 24 Ratings Update After Week 17

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb earned boosts to their overall ratings in the latest Madden 24 update.

Jackson was phenomenal during the Ravens’ 56-19 victory over the Miami Dolphins, throwing for 321 yards and five touchdowns on just 21 pass attempts which resulted in a perfect 158.3 passer rating.

Lamb destroyed the Detroit Lions, hauling in 13 receptions for 227 yards and a touchdown. After his big night, he now holds Dallas’ single-season record for catches as well as receiving yards. Lamb has 122 receptions for 1,651 yards in 2023.

Several other notable players saw their ratings increase following Week 17’s action. The list includes Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates III, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tackle Tristan Wirfs, and Jacksonville Jaguars pass-rusher Josh Allen.

Despite the Jets’ 37-20 defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Browns, Gardner has remained one of the few bright spots on New York’s roster this year. He picked up his 10th pass defensed of the season and earned his second Pro Bowl nod in two years on Wednesday.

Wirfs similarly shined during a loss, as the Buccaneers were unable to defeat the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old has been the linchpin of a Tampa Bay offensive line that has protected quarterback Baker Mayfield admirably.

Jaguars pass-rusher Josh Allen has continues to see his overall increase, as the former No. 7 overall pick is in the midst of a career year. He recorded three sacks as Jacksonville’s defense shut out the Carolina Panthers, bringing his season total to 16.5. That’s the second-highest mark in the NFL.

Bates III shined in spite of the Falcons’ 37-17 loss to the Chicago Bears, recording a team-leading 11 tackles. He’s currently the highest-rated safety in the game at 97 overall after beginning the season with a 91 rating. Bates II has set career-high marks in interceptions, forced fumbles, and solo tackles in his first season with Atlanta.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco and Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates III highlight this week’s players who got a ratings jump.

  • Kansas City ChiefsRB Isiah Pacheco: 83 overall to 84 overall.
  • Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott: 89 overall to 90 overall.
  • Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown: 90 overall to 91 overall.
  • Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts: 90 overall to 91 overall.
  • Atlanta Falcons S Jessie Bates III: 93 overall to 95 overall.

Pacheco is coming off an impressive Week 12 performance against the Las Vegas Raiders. He rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and also caught five passes for 34 yards in a 31-17 win for the Chiefs.

The 24-year-old, who is in his second NFL season, has rushed for 669 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games. He has also caught 30 passes for 196 yards and one score for the 8-3 Chiefs.

Prescott is also coming off a huge performance in a 45-10 win over the Washington Commanders. He completed 22 of 32 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

It was an impressive bounce-back performance from the veteran after he threw for just 189 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 11 win over the Carolina Panthers.

The 30-year-old also remains in the MVP conversation this season as he has led the Cowboys to an 8-3 record and one of the top spots in the NFC while completing 70 percent of his passes for 2,935 yards and 23 touchdowns against six interceptions, in addition to rushing for 151 yards and two scores.

Hurts is also in the MVP conversation and his Eagles have the best record in the NFL at 10-1. His performance in a comeback overtime victory against the Buffalo Bills in Week 12 was inspiring.

Hurts has completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 2,697 yards and 18 touchdowns against 10 interceptions in 11 games, in addition to rushing for 410 yards and 11 scores. If he continues to compete at a high level, he could lock up his first career MVP award.

He posted one interception, which was returned for a touchdown, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and 12 tackles in the win.

Bates has been one of the best safeties in the NFL this season, posting four interceptions, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles and 85 tackles in 11 games. Because of him, the Falcons have the chance to win the NFC South as they are currently atop the division with a 5-6 record.

Micah Parsons & Jalen Ramsey Headline Madden 24 Player Ratings Update

Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons is one step away from joining the elusive 99 Club.

In the latest ratings update for Madden NFL 24, Parsons received a one-point boost to an overall rating of 98. Parsons inclusion in the 99 Club seems inevitable at this point.

Parsons was a wrecking ball in Dallas’s 33-10 victory this weekend, totaling six tackles with 2.5 sacks and two tackles for loss. It was his fourth straight game with a sack as he continues his bid at NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who received a one-point boost up to a 97 overall, is now the top-rated cornerback in the game:

Playing in just his third game of the season after spending the first seven weeks on injured reserve with a knee injury, Ramsey recorded two interceptions against the Las Vegas Raiders, the second of which came in the end zone with 22 seconds left in the fourth quarter to seal a 20-13 victory for Miami. In addition to the ratings boost, he also earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Also included in the ratings updates, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb received a one-point bump to a 95, while Los Angeles Rams wideout Cooper Kupp lost a point and is down to a 94. New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner is also heading downward, as he’s down one point to a 93.

Week 12 kicks off on Thanksgiving Day, enjoy!

Michael Vick Announced As Madden 24 Season 3 Cover Athlete

On Aug. 11, 2003, Madden NFL 2004 was released, and with it the most dominant player in the modern history of sports video games was born.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick had a speed rating of 95 in the game following a season where he rushed for a league-leading 6.9 yards per carry. The result was a virtually unstoppable version of Vick whose legend quickly outpaced the quarterback’s on-field talents.

Fast forward 20 years, and Madden is paying tribute as Vick was unveiled Wednesday afternoon as the cover athlete for Season 3 of Madden NFL 2024, which was released on all platforms Wednesday.

The cover depicts the same photo of Vick with Atlanta that was used in Madden 2004. Meeting certain parameters in the game can unlock a special version of Vick, “’04 Vick,” that resembles his classic iteration.

Since the Madden 2004 release, Vick’s story has taken several twists and turns. He spent more than a year in federal prison after pleading guilty to involvement in a dog fighting ring, missing two seasons in his prime. He later played with the Eagles, Jets and Steelers, reaching the Pro Bowl with Philadelphia in 2010.

New Madden NFL 24 Update Released

Madden 24 Update

EA Sports has released a new Madden NFL 24 update, fixing the kicking UI covering the kick meter that has come up.

The developer notes also mention they are working on the dropped passes and interceptions on the competitive game setting. It sounds like a fix for the issue is coming in a future title update.

Without further ado, let us take a look at Title Update 3.1 to check out everything new with Madden 24.

Madden 24 Title Update 3.1 Full Patch Notes
  • Gameplay
    • Addressed an issue where the Kicking UI blocked visibility of the Kick Meter.
  • Dev Note
    • The team is continuing to actively work on unintended dropped catches & interceptions while playing on the Competitive game setting with improvements coming in a future Title Update.
  • Superstar KO
    • Addressed key issues with Superstar KO and as a result the mode has been ungated.

Very underwhelming update.

Hopefully we don’t have to deal with the kicking bug anymore. Sounds like we have to wait and hope to see a resolution on dropped passes.

Madden NFL 24 Patch Notes

Madden 24 Patch Notes

A new Madden NFL 24 patch is available today fixing the draft class issues, slow UI transitions and franchise mode updates. It also includes a ton of gameplay fixes and tuning, new alternate uniform updates, face scans, tweaks for Superstar mode and whole lot more.

Check out the full patch notes below:

GAMEPLAY:

Abilities

DEV NOTE: The following ability additions are exclusive to Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions.

  • Derrick Henry equipped with Angry Runs
    • When your player is entering the zone, this X-Factor ability grants you an extremely high chance to win your first interaction with a defender. This will include fakeout attempts, truck/stiff arm attempts, and breaking a tackle.
Pro Tip: Look for Kyle Brandt’s Angry Runs player of the week to see which players earn this ability in Ultimate Team.
  • Travis Kelce equipped with 3rd Down Threat
    • This Superstar ability grants your player an improved chance of winning contested catches on 3rd down while in single coverage. This will only activate if the pass is within 25 yards of the line of scrimmage.
  • Jason Kelce equipped with Linchpin
    • This Superstar ability causes the center to bolster the entire offensive line, allowing players to hold blocks for a longer period of time then they normally would.
  • Micah Parsons equipped with Dual Threat
    • When in the zone, this X-Factor ability grants players an extremely high chance to defeat pass blocks while rushing or force catch knockouts while in coverage.

Catching

  • Fixed an issue causing players to warp to their feet after playing a diving catch.
  • Fixed a rare issue preventing running backs from playing catches on swing routes when leading them upfield.
  • Fixed a rare issue allowing defenders to use a one-handed interception through the receiver’s arms.
  • Tuning to reduce the catch success chance for pass rushers when attempting to catch an errant throw-out-of-sack pass.
  • Tuning to reduce the amount of catch-tackle knockouts, specifically targeted at curl routes when leading away from the defender.

Defense & Special Teams

  • Tuning to Real-Time AI adjustment logic so it will not take effect when the defense is using pass coverage/sub defense personnel.
    • DEV NOTE: After hearing your feedback, and looking at the online game stats, we have added additional criteria so the defense will now have to have at least as many defensive linemen and linebackers on the field as the offense has offensive linemen and tight ends in order to activate the benefit of recognizing repeated run plays. For example, a defense aligning in a Dime defense vs. a 1 RB/1 TE offensive formation will now reflect the defense playing to stop the pass instead of the run.
  • Tuning to QB Contain logic so only edge-rush defenders that are very close to the line of scrimmage will be able to get assigned QB Contain.
  • Fixed an issue allowing a blitz exploit where the defense would slant-out the defensive line after using QB Contain to get unrealistic edge heat;  now interior pass rushers will take appropriate rush angles understanding that the edge rushers are in contain.
  • Fixed an issue allowing a user-controlled defender to tackle a punt returner after a fair-catch signal with no penalty.
  • Fixed an issue causing receivers to enter the ‘give-up’ assignment sometimes after a catch in the flat to their side of the field.
  • Fixed an issue causing kickers to immediately walk toward the sideline after performing a squib kick.
  • Modified the defensive audibles logic so teams can only audible to formations with matching personnel.
    • DEV NOTE: Previously users were only able to audible to different defensive sets within a defensive formation but we were not looking at substitutions that were made prior to the audible. Users will no longer be able to audible to a Set that puts their substituted Safety on the Defensive Line. Users will have the ability to audible from Nickel to Dime if they have substituted a Linebacker with a Defensive Back which they could not do before.
  • Fixed an issue causing a user-controlled defensive lineman to sometimes get stuck in his stance after shifting the line to the right in the Nickel, 4-4 and 3-4 formations.
  • Fix an issue allowing users to snap the ball too quickly on no-huddle plays (carrying forward the fix from the last title update that was made to the Competitive Game Style).

AI

  • Fixed an issue where the AI-controlled team would burn their last timeout early and would sometimes not attempt field goals with the clock expiring.
  • Fixed an issue causing AI-controlled teams to attempt long field goals when out of range.

Passing

  • Tuning Pitch/Lateral accuracy to make it more difficult/risky to perform long-distance laterals while moving in opposite directions.
    • DEV NOTE: Users were able to create unrealistic long pitch plays using the Speed Option to draw the defense in, then pitch the ball to a player really far away. Now the pitch will not be as accurate when attempting to pitch such a far distance and the facing angle of the QB will also be taken into account.
  • Fixed a visual issue preventing the Skill-Based Passing power bar from updating correctly.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the user-setting to hide the passing meter from carrying over into gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue allowing Broncos QB Russell Wilson and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to throw on the run with no accuracy penalty.
  • Fixed an issue causing an inaccurate pass when rolling out and pass leading to the inside of a TE in the flat with ‘Perfect Accuracy’ feedback,
  • Tuning to reduce ‘backfoot’ pass animations from triggering when not under pressure.

Now the pitch will not be as accurate when attempting to pitch such a far distance and the facing angle of the QB will also be taken into account.
