NBA 2K25: Gravity Ball

NBA 2K25 is changing the game. In the new update, Gravity Ball Mode was added. In a bid to redefine how you experience the court, Gravity Ball introduces a physics-based mechanic. The new mode takes skill, strategy, and realism to the next level.

What Is It?

Gravity Ball adds a new level of strategy to the game. By manipulating the ball’s weight, altering its movement in the air, and adding a gravity-based feel to every shot, pass, or dribble, you can experience NBA 2K25 in a new light.

Specifically, the ball’s movement is influenced by gravitational forces that vary depending on the player’s position, physical attributes, or proximity to others. For example, larger players might experience higher gravity levels and a heavier ball. The same is true for guards cutting through the defense; except they could see the ball ‘lighten up’ to increase finesse and control.

The gameplay implications are massive. Now, players need to factor in the weight of their moves. A three-pointer feels different from a fast-break layup. It is not just the style of the shot, but the weight. Feeling the shot is now more important than ever.

It is the same for passing and defense. Deflecting a pass, or intercepting the ball now requires even more attention to timing. This is the true test of skill.

Final Take

Gravity Ball is not just a new feature. In fact, it’s a challenge. A thrill that elevates the game and your experience. Last year, EA said that NBA 2K25 would reach new levels of immersion; and Gravity Ball lets you experience the game like never before.

However, fan reactions are mixed. Some are praising EA’s creativity with the new feature. Others simply say it brings life to NBA 2K25. However, most are disappointed that it incurs an $8 price tag.

NBA 2K25: The Rebound We Needed

NBA 2K25 has been out for two weeks now, and fans have left mixed reviews. Some fans are praising the game for its realistic feel and improved graphics; others are raising concerns over recurring issues.

Visually, the game is beautiful. Fans are celebrating the in-game details and graphics. 2K25 also boasts an immersive experience by providing fluid animations, dynamic arenas, and player likenesses. Fans praise the revamped MyCareer mode, which increases immersion for players by incorporating off-court decisions. Returning fans say the mode feels fresh; by placing greater focus on the player rather than the team.

However, 2K25 still faces ongoing challenges. Microtransactions continue to frustrate fans who view it as pay-to-win. The AI  and gameplay controls – which were marketed as improvements – are criticized for their steep learning curve. Players have also spoken out against recycled content, such as voice lines.

The Praises
  • Enhanced Graphics
  • Improved Gameplay
  • New Features
The Criticisms
  • Microtransactions
  • Hard To Learn
  • Recycled Content

Despite the criticism, NBA 2K25 is viewed positively by fans and is seen as a worthy successor for the 2K series. The enhanced graphics, realistic gameplay, and new features have appealed to both returning and new players. Overall, 2K25 continues to build on the franchise. While some areas may fall flat, 2K25 is the strongest basketball game to date.

Zen Cheaters in NBA 2K: A Growing Problem

In the world of NBA 2K, where skill and strategy collide on the virtual court, a new menace has emerged: the Zen cheaters. These players exploit loopholes and manipulate game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage. Let’s delve into the issue and explore how it’s affecting the game.

What Are Zen Cheaters?

Understanding Zen Cheating

Keyphrases: Zen cheaters, modded controllers, unfair advantage

Zen cheaters are players who use modded controllers to gain an edge in NBA 2K. These controllers allow them to perform actions with superhuman precision, bypassing the limitations faced by regular players. The term “Zen” refers to the specific type of controller modification that enables this cheating.

The Zen Aim Problem

One of the most significant areas affected by Zen cheating is shooting accuracy. Zen cheaters can consistently hit shots with pinpoint accuracy, making it frustrating for legitimate players who rely on skill and practice. Here’s how the issue unfolds:

  1. Predictable Stick Shooting: Initially, NBA 2K stick shooting was predictable based on the player’s input. However, after Patch 1, things changed. 2K inadvertently made stick shooting more predictable, which opened the door for Zen cheaters.
  2. Zen Controllers: Zen controllers allow players to automate stick movements, resulting in near-perfect shot timing. These cheaters can green shots at an alarming rate, rendering skill-based shooting obsolete.
  3. Community Frustration: Legitimate players have voiced their frustration. They’ve spent hours practicing stick aiming, only to face opponents who effortlessly drain shots using Zen controllers.

2K’s Response

Recognizing the severity of the issue, 2K has taken steps to address Zen cheating:

  1. Hotfix Updates: 2K released hotfix updates specifically targeting Zen cheating. These updates aim to level the playing field by nerfing Zen controllers and restoring balance.

The Road Ahead

As NBA 2K evolves, the battle against Zen cheaters continues. Legitimate players hope for a future where skill and dedication prevail over automated exploits. Until then, stay vigilant, report suspicious behavior, and keep the virtual courts clean!

Reddit Discussion: A thread on r/NBA2k where players discuss the use of Zen controllers and their impact on the game. Some share their experiences, while others express frustration with Zen cheaters

NBA 2K League Playoffs set to begin on April 24th, 2024!

NBA 2K League 3v3 Playoffs: A Clash of Titans

The NBA 2K League 3v3 Playoffs are set to ignite the virtual courts on April 24, 2024, and fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the showdown. With a $550,000 prize pool up for grabs, the stakes have never been higher. Let’s delve into the 14 teams competing for glory and dissect their strengths and stories.

1. T-Wolves Gaming

The T-Wolves Gaming have emerged as the surprising top seed. After a lackluster performance in last year’s 3v3 mode, they’ve roared back with authority. Led by the formidable ShiftyKaii, they clinched the #1 seed with an impressive 88 wins out of 136 games. Their journey to the Finals includes making it to both major tournaments (SLAM and SWITCH). Can they maintain their momentum and secure the championship?

Path to the Finals: Avoid the lower bracket. T-Wolves Gaming has played numerous games due to their lower bracket runs in both tournaments. If they can dodge that early loss, they’ll be a force to reckon with.

2. Pistons GT

The reigning champions, Pistons GT, enter the playoffs with a chip on their shoulder. With a SLAM OPEN title under their belt, they’re hungry for more. Underrated? Perhaps. Their trio of AntBag, and Connor is one of the longest-standing lineups in the league. Can they successfully defend their title?

Path to the Finals: Stop losing Game 1s. Pistons GT tends to figure out opponents late in series, but dropping Game 1s against elite teams is risky. A strong start is crucial.

3. DUX Infinitos

DUX Infinitos embodies resilience. Whether they’re 2-2 or 0-2, their intensity and defensive prowess keep them in the game. They’ve defied odds and deserve their spot in the playoffs. Can they break the streak of no tournament champion winning the season championship?

Path to the Finals: Make your threes count. DUX’s never-give-up attitude won’t be enough. Hitting those crucial three-pointers will be key to their success.

4. Blazer5 Gaming

Blazer5 Gaming boasts a balanced roster with stars like Mama Im Dat Man and OneWildWalnut. Their teamwork and adaptability make them a formidable opponent. Can they rise to the occasion and claim the championship?

5. Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai

The international flair of Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai adds intrigue. With players from China and South Korea, they bring a unique style to the league. Keep an eye on Wang, their sharpshooter.

6. Knicks Gaming

Knicks Gaming has a rich history in the league. Their experienced players, including Duck, aim to add another title to their legacy.

7. Magic Gaming

Magic Gaming relies on Reizey and DT to lead the charge. Their chemistry and clutch plays could propel them to the top.

8. Mavs Gaming

Mavs Gaming features Dimez, a seasoned point guard. Can he orchestrate their path to the championship?

9. NetsGC

NetsGC has quietly built a strong roster. Choc and Randomz are names to watch out for.

10. Pacers Gaming

Pacers Gaming seeks redemption after narrowly missing the playoffs last year. WoLF and Swizurk aim to make a statement.

11. Raptors Uprising GC

Raptors Uprising GC dominated the regular season. Their fast-paced playstyle and Kenny Got Work’s scoring prowess make them contenders.

12. Warriors Gaming Squad

Warriors Gaming Squad relies on BSmoove and Gradient. Can they upset the favorites?

13. Wizards District Gaming

Wizards District Gaming boasts a strong lineup led by Newdini. Can they surprise everyone?

14. Heat Check Gaming

Heat Check Gaming rounds out the playoff picture. Their dynamic duo of Hotshot and Majestic aims to make waves.

The NBA 2K League 3v3 Playoffs promise intense battles, clutch plays, and unforgettable moments. Mark your calendars for the electrifying action starting on April 24, 2024 .

NBA 2K Glitch Gives Gamers Millions In Free MyTeam Coins

NBA 2K glitch gives gamers free Kobe Bryant, Victor Wembanyama cards

There is a lot of chatter going on relating to an in-game error that netted some players thousands of dollars’ worth of in-game content for free in NBA 2K 24 recently.

Just after midnight on Dec. 26, some players noticed the game’s MyTeam mode was offering a “deal of the day” promotion for a digital card of Paul George. The card’s purchase price, however, was lower than its sell price. Gamers that noticed bought and sold the card multiple times and, as a result, stashed away millions of coins (1 million coins is worth $150) as the error was left untouched overnight.

Those players then went on a shopping spree. Using the coins to buy cards they wanted, including the pricey and rare Kobe Bryant card, which costs around 2 million coins (or about $300), the new Victor Wembanyama card (worth about $75), as well as other top-tier player cards, such as LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The error happened on the day after Christmas, when NBA 2K typically sees a new influx of players.

It wasn’t until late Tuesday morning that 2K fixed the issue and made it so that George’s card sold for less than its buy price. Several gamers posted photos of their accounts wiped of all their coins but not the cards they gobbled up during the exploit.

Representatives for NBA 2K did not respond to multiple requests for comment about players taking advantage of the error, the cost of its cards or if it plans to institute bans for players who purchased cards during this window.

Take-Two Sued Over NBA 2K Microtransactions

Take-Two sued over NBA 2K microtransactions

Game publisher Take-Two Interactive is being accused of “theft” in a new class-action complaint over microtransactions in NBA 2K and the rest of the company’s popular sports games.

The suit was filed in federal court in California on Nov. 17 by a minor, J.A., who is represented by their mother.

  • It focuses on Take-Two’s sale of “virtual currency” to buy in-game items in NBA 2K and the inability to transfer that currency to newer versions of the game.
  • The suit alleges that Take-Two’s approach is “unfair, illegal and greedy,” especially when coupled with the claim that it deactivates the servers for its older annual sports games relatively rapidly after new editions are released. Once the servers of a game are turned off, leftover virtual currency is inaccessible.
  • The suit accuses Take-Two of unfair business practices and violating California’s civil theft statutes, stating in part: “By removing Plaintiff and the Class members’ VC, Defendants took and stole their personal property, or fraudulently appropriated property that had been entrusted to Defendant.”

A rep for Take-Two declined to comment about the allegations to Axios. The publisher’s lawyers have not responded in court.

Microtransactions in games are lucrative for publishers and a focus for Take-Two, which bases part of its CEO’s compensation on customers’ purchase of them. They have been particularly controversial when tied to randomized rewards, or loot boxes, which have drawn scrutiny from regulators in governments around the world.

Take-Two was sued over loot boxes in NBA 2K by another minor and her guardian in Illinois last year. But in October 2022, a judge ruled the matter should be settled through arbitration.

Based on recent history, this won’t be the last time we hear about something like this.

NBA 2K Helps Save Kobe Bryant Mural

Kobe Bryant Mural

An iconic mural of the late Kobe and Gigi Bryant is saved, after the NBA 2K video game franchise negotiated with the landlord to keep it up.

Located on a building near Crypto.com Arena, the mural was painted by Louie Palsino as a tribute to Bryant and Gianna after they were killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020. It’s become a popular destination for fans, but its existence was in jeopardy after the building’s landlord ordered it to be taken down.

An online petition urging the landlord to preserve the mural garnered more than 90,000 signatures and also received support from Vanessa Bryant.

While appearing on ESPN’s “NBA Today” on Monday, 2K Games head of lifestyle and content marketing Ronnie Singh, better known as Ronnie 2K, announced that the company had reached an agreement with the landlord to save the mural.

“For weeks and months, people have lined up in front of this beautiful mural, taking pictures. For us to be a part of saving this thing is just a celebration of basketball,” Singh said. “This one means a lot to our community. It’s basketball related. It’s Kobe Bryant. Our cover star for NBA 2K24 is Kobe Bryant. It made sense for us to get involved.

“We felt a moral responsibility to jump in and say, ‘We want to make a difference.’ Not words, but actions.”

Singh told reporters at a re-dedication ceremony Thursday that 2K Games made a “philanthropic donation” to the landlord to preserve the mural for one year. He said he hopes the gesture is “inspiring others to take it on,” but that the company will reconsider helping further after the year is over.

Bryant was unveiled as the NBA 2K24 cover athlete in July.
