Black Ops 6: Season 1 Update

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been out for a little over two weeks now. The latest update, which comes out on 14 November, will bring new maps, weapons, and features. The newest update seeks to keep the game energized and exciting for fans. This update will focus on expanding gameplay options, and the multiplayer experience – ensuring players have countless ways to enjoy the game.

So What’s New?

A major highlight of the update is the introduction of three more multiplayer maps – and a new Warzone map. Each map will bring with a unique terrain with strategic advantages for various playstyles. Regardless if you run and gun up close or snipe from afar – each map has something for everyone.

The new update even includes a wide variety of additional guns, scorestreaks, and weapon attachments. If you enjoy the customization options in Black Ops 6, you’ll enjoy the extended range of options released as the season progresses.

We will also receive a handful of additional game modes, including the fan favorite Prophunt. A new zombies map – Citadelle Des Mortes – is also in the update.

What Are Fans Saying?

In short, fan reactions remain largely positive. Even the highly criticized omnimovement has received some praise. Fans remain critical about the “skill based damage” mechanic suggesting that you are punished for performing well. Additionally, fans who enjoy the zombies mode suggest adjusting the difficulty in later rounds as it becomes much too difficult.

NBA 2K25: Gravity Ball

NBA 2K25 is changing the game. In the new update, Gravity Ball Mode was added. In a bid to redefine how you experience the court, Gravity Ball introduces a physics-based mechanic. The new mode takes skill, strategy, and realism to the next level.

What Is It?

Gravity Ball adds a new level of strategy to the game. By manipulating the ball’s weight, altering its movement in the air, and adding a gravity-based feel to every shot, pass, or dribble, you can experience NBA 2K25 in a new light.

Specifically, the ball’s movement is influenced by gravitational forces that vary depending on the player’s position, physical attributes, or proximity to others. For example, larger players might experience higher gravity levels and a heavier ball. The same is true for guards cutting through the defense; except they could see the ball ‘lighten up’ to increase finesse and control.

The gameplay implications are massive. Now, players need to factor in the weight of their moves. A three-pointer feels different from a fast-break layup. It is not just the style of the shot, but the weight. Feeling the shot is now more important than ever.

It is the same for passing and defense. Deflecting a pass, or intercepting the ball now requires even more attention to timing. This is the true test of skill.

Final Take

Gravity Ball is not just a new feature. In fact, it’s a challenge. A thrill that elevates the game and your experience. Last year, EA said that NBA 2K25 would reach new levels of immersion; and Gravity Ball lets you experience the game like never before.

However, fan reactions are mixed. Some are praising EA’s creativity with the new feature. Others simply say it brings life to NBA 2K25. However, most are disappointed that it incurs an $8 price tag.

MLB The Show 24: World Series Revisit

With the world tuning into the MLB World Series, we want to take a fresh look at MLB The Show 24. San Diego Studio’s latest release continues to be a standout in sports gaming. It mixes realism with new features, appealing to new and long-term fans.

A headline feature is the enhanced “Road To The Show” mode. For the first time ever, players can create a female character. Some fans praise this option as it allows fans to experience baseball from a fresh perspective. You can even achieve historical milestones throughout your career.

A standout feature is the commitment to highlighting diverse voices. In fact, the “Negro Leagues Storyline” mode brings history to life. With archival footage and player interviews, you can now experience forgotten baseball history; with a special focus on legendary Derek Jeter.

In terms of gameplay, MLB The Show 24 kept core mechanics from previous games but added subtle improvements. Specifically, it refined defensive animations and added customizable stadiums. Fans have also praised changes to “Franchise Mode” such as the streamlined management system.

Despite struggling to find solid footing earlier this year, fans are returning as the MLB season comes to a close. Twitch viewership for MLB The Show 24 has doubled since the start of the World Series; and has a 8/10 rating on IGN.

Whether you enjoy watching the World Series or simply love baseball, MLB The Show 24 offers a feature rich experience that keeps it atop its genre. While it did have a shaky launch due to gameplay issues, numerous patches and updates resolved much of them. With the latest update arriving just last week, I recommend revisiting MLB The Show 24.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6: What’s New?

Activision is about to release its most recent game in the Call of Duty franchise. Following the success of returning to the modern timeline, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will continue the trend. Activision promised they would push the limits of current FPS games. They announced new features, gameplay improvements, and returning fan-favorite game modes.

What You Can Expect

The fans requested it, and Activision delivered. The franchise is returning to the modern era. The same gritty, tactical warfare is back, but with a fresh take on campaign and multiplayer. The campaign is inspired by current geopolitical events, providing a relative and immersive experience.

One of the most anticipated updates is to the movement system.  Activision promises smoother transitions, fluid movement, and refined gunplay. Additionally, the new “Tactical Ops” game mode features large-scale skirmishes; with a changing dynamic depending on the outcome of the previous match.

The fan-favorite and free-to-play Warzone will also be overhauled when Black Ops 6 releases. Players can expect larger maps and a destructible environment. Integrating the base game with Warzone ensures all your progress carries over.

Activision also ensures that Black Ops 6 will take full advantage of next-gen hardware to give you jaw-dropping visuals. You can also expect faster load screens and realistic environments. The graphics should be consistent across platforms.

Unfortunately, unlike previous titles, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 does not have early access. Meaning you will have to wait until full release on 25 October 2024.

Final Thoughts

I am not a Call of Duty fan, but even I am anticipating this one. The return to a modern setting should provide nostalgia for veteran players; Also, the innovative features should keep it feeling fresh. The new mechanics, and gameplay updates should make this one of the most exciting games in the franchise. Fans have high hopes for this one, so Activision better deliver.

EA FC25: A Honest Review

EA Sports FC25 has been out for a few weeks now, so what are people saying? One word. Lacking

It is no surprise that EA has stuck to the formula that people have come to expect. For example, In FC25, the Ultimate Team saw major updates that pleased many, yet the game saw little improvement elsewhere. Despite complaints of corporate greed and server issues, fans remain loyal to their beloved franchise.

The Ultimate Team Hole

Ultimate Team has been a fan-favorite mode. It is no surprise that EA would prioritize refining it; which includes introducing female players and streamlining play. EA was listening and finally gave the fans what they were asking for. Except, it came at a cost.

A stand-out, highly advertised feature for FC25 is Rush Mode. A five-v-five version of the game. It offers fast-paced gameplay with an emphasis on teamwork. It carries the thrill and challenges of a real five-v-five match. Which many enjoy. However, game imbalances, crashes, and a lack of features has disappointed others. With EA’s focus on Ultimate Team, many fans feel like Rush Mode was, well, rushed. Leaving it feeling empty.

This pattern is common with other game mechanics as well. Clubs and Career Mode has been criticized as being nothing more than a reward system for Ultimate Team. This is the dilemma EA created for themselves. Fans of FC25 just aren’t interested in other modes, unless they are associated with Ultimate Team.

In Ranked Play, EA introduced stricter requirements for rewards, and won’t let players reset their rank; which continues to frustrate casual players. Another totted feature was the Highlighter replay system. This allows players to create highlight reals with visual effects, although the system is full of bugs and crashes frequently. Certainly less focus on Ultimate Team could have likely prevented these issues.

Final Thoughts

EA FC25 continues the theme of favoriting Ultimate Team. The rest of the game lacks any real innovation, and feels forgotten. While the familiarity and progression system keeps fans coming back, the lack of changes, and improvements continues to frustrate others. One thing is certain, as long as fans continue to purchase the game, EA will continue to deliver the same experience.
