After making its debut in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, the Fantasy FUT promo is set to make a return to FIFA 23.
The Fantasy FUT promo is expected to launch soon. And based on all the leaks we’ve seen so far, Fantasy FUT looks set to make up for last week’s absence of Ultimate Team promotions.
In FIFA 22, the Fantasy FUT promo consisted of two teams featuring boosted dynamic player items that could upgrade even higher based on real-life individual and team performances, in some cases upgrading by plus three overall ratings. Upgrades are going to be even bigger this time around, with FUT Heroes also part of the promo.
Here’s a round-up of the latest FUT Fantasy leaks, confirmed release date and the new upgrade system.
FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT release date
One of the three Fantasy FUT-themed loading screens contains a countdown to the promo’s release in FUT, confirming that the Fantasy FUT promo will begin on Friday, March 3 at 1pm ET.
We expect that the promo will have two squads released over a two-week period, with the promotion concluding on Friday, March 17 at 1pm ET. The loading screen also showed two different Fantasy FUT card designs, potentially hinting at a new type of player item being included.
FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT upgrades
In FIFA 22, Fantasy FUT players were able to earn up to +3 overall upgrades based on individual and team performances over the five domestic league games following the promotions release. The first +1 OVR upgrade was if they made three appearances in the five domestic league games, the second +1 OVR upgrade was if they make an appearance in a team win in one of the five domestic league games, and the third +1 OVR upgrade was if attackers and midfielders either scored or assisted whilst defenders and goalkeepers keep one clean sheet in the five games.
According to a FUT 23 loading screen, FIFA 23 will have a new and improved upgrade system for Fantasy FUT. According to the loading screen, there are now four upgrade opportunities as well as the ability to earn three new traits.
These are the four ways that Fantasy FUT players can upgrade in FIFA 23 after each player has been released.
- +1 Upgrade: One win in the next six domestic league games
- +1 Upgrade: Three appearances in the next six domestic league games
- +1 Upgrade: Two goals or assists (Attackers/Midfielders) or two clean sheets (Defenders/Goalkeepers) in the next six domestic league games
- +1 Upgrade and three new traits: Avoid defeat in the next six domestic league games
FUT Heroes will also be included in the promo, receiving Fantasy FUT Heroes player items. The Heroes will only be eligible for two of the four possible upgrades due to them not being able to make appearances or be involved in goals or clean sheets.
FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT leaks
The leaks come from reliable leaker @FutSheriff. According to him, Fantasy FUT could be one of the best of FUT 23 with FUT Heroes set to be included in the promo, but with a twist.
Each FUT Hero item included in the Fantasy FUT promo will receive upgrades based on a team they represented in their playing career, though they will not be listed as a player for that club, with the most logical option being a FUT Heroes league. As well as the FUT Heroes, the leaker has revealed a handful of players that are also reportedly set to feature. Here are the latest Fantasy FUT leaks.
